The film tells the story of American soldier Calvin Barr (Turner), who leaves his true love behind to infiltrate enemy lines and kill Adolph Hitler in the heart of World War II. Decades later, Barr (now Elliott) is needed again, this time to hunt the legendary Bigfoot — carrier of a deadly plague hidden deep in the Canadian wilderness.
Krzykowski is producing with Lucky McKee, Patrick Ewald and Shaked Berenson; Ewald and Berenson’s Epic Pictures is financing and handling worldwide sales.
The film features a loaded VFX team including Blade Runner’s Douglas Trumbull, Richard Yuricich and Rocco Gioffre and Spectral Motion effects house which was behind Hellboy and Stranger Things among others.
Turner played Kili in Peter Jackson’s Hobbit movies and currently stars on BBC’s Poldark which is airing Season 3 in the UK and airs on PBS’ Masterpiece on October 1. His film credits include Jim Sheridan’s The Secret Scripture and the upcoming Loving Vincent with Saoirse Ronan and Chris O’Dowd.
The next series of Aidan Turner drama Poldark will start on BBC1 in June, RadioTimes.com can exclusively reveal.
A BBC spokeswoman confirmed the news: “The earlier filming schedule on this series means that we can bring the much anticipated third series back sooner for fans to Sunday nights in June.”
The second series aired in the autumn against ITV drama Victoria but senior BBC sources were insistent that the decision for series 3 was not about avoiding a clash with rival show but about giving viewers a “summer treat”.
The handsome Irish actor, Aidan Turner does not nurture any inhibitions about shedding off his clothes on television. The “Poldark” Season 3 star does not want people to make “a big deal” out of it.
In “Poldark” Season 1, Turner had a sexy scene where he removes his shirt and does some farming. As it turned out, the scene created much hue and cry. It appeared that the actor was tired of hearing how the said scene could make it to the most memorable TV moments of 2015, Celebeat wrote.
So, it did not come as a big surprise when “The Hobbit” actor recently confessed that he was getting “a little tired of all the attention.” Turner even said that he never took that scene seriously, as it seemed sensible for Ross being a farmer to go shirtless, especially since it was also supposed to be summer time.
Turner’s steamy scene may not be the last one on BBC. The same outlet had earlier reported that there could be another scene with a shirtless Turner in “Poldark” Season 3.
After all, Turner’s fans will remember that the actor had done a sensuous scene with his co-star Eleanor Tomlinson’s Demelza in season 2. Incidentally, the scene was adjudged as the most memorable British television moment of 2016. The scene shows Demelza giving a bath to Ross.
It seems that the writers of the show are also excited with the upcoming season. Debbie Horsfield, the show’s writer has reportedly said that the showrunners are absolutely thrilled for the new season. This is because of the inclusion of some fresh faces in the cast and a “story which scales new heights of conflict, feuding, passion and drama.”
The premiere date for “Poldark” Season 3 is yet to be announced.
According to a report by Digital Spy, a new character joining the show this year is Josh Whitehouse played by Hugh Armitage. The character is said to be an aristocrat, whose arrival will have consequences for Ross (Aidan Turner).
The other new comers are Demelza’s (Eleanor Tomlinson) brothers. Drake (Harry Richardson) is said to be a “free-spirited rogue,” while Sam (Tom York) is “deeply religious.” Sam also gets a love interest named Emma Tregirls (Ciara Charteris), which is another new character.
Writer Debbie Horsfield teased that the arrival of new characters will lead to a richer storyline with more conflicts, feuds, passion and drama. After Ross and his wife nearly split last year, the teaser trailer of “Poldark” season 3 [see below] confirms that she isn’t going anywhere. In fact the two characters seem to have moved on from the past, and their love appears to be just as strong as before.
Ross is older in the new season, but Horsfield reveals that he is still not wiser. The character is prone to reckless actions, which sometimes not only cost him but also the ones close to him. The writer promised another rollercoaster ride, with the stakes being higher.
While the new characters and new storylines are exciting things to look forward to, there will be something missing on the show. According to a report by Telly Spotting, veteran on the show Phil Davis will not be reprising his role as Ross’ servant Jud Paynter. The character’s on screen wife Prudie (Beatie Edney), however, will continue to serve the family. It is not clear if another character will fill this gap on the show eventually.
Apart from the lead couple on the show, the fans can look forward to seeing Elizabeth (Heida Reed) and George Warleggan (Jack farthing). Ellise Chappell will be playing Elezabth’s cousin Morwenna, and her role this year will be that of a governess to George.
Sean Gilder will be playing the role of a reckless womanizer named Tholly Tregirls. The release date of “Poldark” season 3 is yet to be announced, but ITV Studios has released a new behind-the-scenes picture of Turner and Richard Hope (Harris Pascoe) for the fans to enjoy in the meantime.
Another feather is now added to “Poldark” star Aidan Turner’s cap. A blue colored plaque was given recently give to the star. The honor is rare and is usually awarded to people who have passed away.
This plaque was erected on the wall of a resort called Gwel an Mor, which is situated near Porthreat in memory of Turner’s stay, while he was shooting “Poldark” Season 2. Ideally, this blue plaque only gets erected in memory of a person who passed away two decades ago.
Although fans of the handsome actor need not worry at all, as their hero is healthy and busy with shooting. The erection of the plaque actually served a dual purpose; to pay tribute to the star and to act as a publicity stunt carried out by the management of the Gwel an Mor Five Star Resort.
Aidan Turner did stay at this resort. Steve Hagan, the marketing manager for this luxury property said, “We just thought it was a bit of fun. It seems to get a fair bit of attention, though.” The fan-favorite Irish star was spotted with “Poldark” colleague Eleanor Tomlinson, who plays the character of Demelza, Turner’s on-screen wife. The duo emjoyed a quiet dinner in each other’s company last Sept. It was at that time that the pair’s picture was posted at Gwel an Mor in Portreath.
Both of them appeared to have an excellent time together. The stars were all smiles as they raised their wine glasses. The good news for “Poldark” fans is that the popular saga was also aired in Denmark and Holland.
Incidentally, both these nations have become extremely fond of Cornwall as their preferred holiday destination, Cornwall Live wrote. There is no doubt that the success of the series will see fans from all over the world visiting Cornwall to get a real taste of the place.
For the people of Cornwall, it definitely means extra revenue from tourism. The Chief Executive of the Visit Cornwall initiative, Malcolm Bell said that he has big hopes that the show’s broadcast will enable to showcase his country’s beauty to the young travelers. Bell added, “It is really good news for tourism in Cornwall.”
In other news, Radio Times reported that ITV has recently commissioned a new drama titled “Desire” to Mammoth Screen, producers of “Poldark.” The new series will be about a tragic love affair.
Dame Maggie Smith*, Aidan Turner, Jenna Coleman, Charlie Brooker and Rowan Atkinson have all joined the star-studded line-up for the BFI & Radio Times Television Festival, added to a bill that already includes Steven Moffat, Mark Gatiss, Michael Palin, Julie Walters and Keeley Hawes (details of previously announced events here).

If you are missing your Poldark fix on a Sunday night and the sight of Aidan Turner then here is a chance to see a new photo of the actor and his co-star Eleanor Tomlinson. The pair having given their support to a groundbreaking book created by the Cornwall Down’s syndrome support group.
They posted a photo on twitter with a message of support for the Going to School book, which celebrates inclusion for children with not only Down’s syndrome, but other conditions or disabilities and is aimed at all pre-school age children.
It is a pictorial book charting the average day in the life of school children and features youngsters from Cornwall with Down’s syndrome and their peers – featuring things like getting ready, lessons, playtime and going home.
Since September when it launched, stars of Miranda and Emmerdale as well as other celebrities have given their endorsement to the book, which is to be given to 30,000 three and four-year-olds through the Bookstart scheme over the next four years, thanks to a partnership between the support Group and Cornwall Council. The book is also available to buy online with interest from across the globe including America, Canada and Bangladesh.
This is the second book in the Looking Up series – the first was of children from Cornwall with Down’s syndrome pictured from birth which was given to new parents as part of a gift pack in hospital to try and reassure them.
Sandy Lawrence, chairman of the CDSSG, along with Vicky Bundy and Angie Emrys-Jones were behind the book.
Mrs Emrys-Jones previously said: “We could not have imagined the phenomenally positive response that this book is having worldwide and to be receiving daily celebrity selfies endorsing our book is truly amazing, we are thrilled to see such acceptance for our children.”
“Poldark” Season 3 is sure to have an intensifying start this spring season. The new cast is just announced along with Elizabeth’s scandalous pregnancy.
Aidan Turner’s Ross character in “Poldark” Season 3 is back this coming spring of 2017. According to Digital Spy, BBC1 has confirmed the filming of “Poldark” Season 3 in Cornwall bringing, of course, the rugged Ross Poldark image. “Poldark” Season 3 new cast members are going to kick the bucket with Aidan Turner’s Ross anti-hero character. Demelza, played by Eleanor Tomlinson will be back again as Ross’s long-suffering wife. Also, Elizabeth, played by Heidi Reed and her husband George Warleggan (Jack Farthing) are back in the scene of “Poldark” Season 3.
Other casts are retained such as Verity (Ruby Bentall), Dr. Dwith Enys (Luke Norris), and Aunt Agatha( Caroline Blakiston). Likewise, characters of Caroline Penvenen (Gabriella Wilde) and Ray Penvenen (John Nettles) and Prudie Paynter (Beatie Edney) returns in “Poldark” Season 3.
Moreover, there will be a new cast of heart-throbs and scoundrels to cause drama in “Poldark” Season 3 which fans should watch for. The new cast includes Ciara Charter (Emma Tregirls), as well as Demelza’s brothers Drake (Harry Richardson) and Sam (Tom York). Sam and Ciara will be a new love interest in “Poldark” Season 3 who will make their own love affair.
On the other hand, the controversial pregnancy of Elizabeth is so alarming in “Poldark” Season 3, as per The Week. Aidan Turner’s Ross character in “Poldark” Season 3 will sure to face a dilemma as the season starts. Besides, Ross is set in a dual conflict between George and for raping his wife Elizabeth. It will absolutely be a big bombshell for there is a strong suspicion in “Poldark” Season 3 that Aidan Turner’s Ross is the father of the baby. If this is true, then Elizabeth and her baby may be in for a hard time in the hands of George.
Elizabeth’s pregnancy will run the story of “Poldark” Season 3 as well as opens multiple questions what will happen next in “Poldark” Season 3 following episodes. Will Aidan Turner’s Ross stay true to Demelza or end up with Elizabeth if he finds the baby is his blood?
Dedicated fans of Aidan Turner are thrilled to witness the actor in most anticipated Poldark Season 3. In a recent interview, the hunk teased some details about the leading characters Ross and Demelza.
PBS noted the actor knows well his character as he reflected on Ross’ flaws and the fiery finale of season two. He also explained why he still believes that the warring lovers Ross and Demelza are definitely “soulmates.”
Speaking to Masterpiece Studio’s Jace Jacob, Turner was asked how Ross changed over the course of the second season. He explained that the leading character is sort of “emotionally quite inarticulate.” He further stated that he does not understand what it is and what he feels when he witnessed Caroline and Dwight’s relationship, which he sees during his early romance with Demelza.
Moreover, he revealed that Ross realized “how much he relies, trusts, and loves Demelza.” Jacob asked Turner what Demelza represents to Ross with her “imperfect realness” and his “true, real and abiding love.” The actor responded that he thinks there is a “soulmate quality” to the leading characters.
The 33-year-old hunk explained that Ross and Demelza are like “two peas in the pod.” He added that the protagonist sees a woman who is real. He added that she cares about the important thing rather than the status, money or his job.
Furthermore, Jacob asked Turner what truly prevents Ross from rejoining his troop. The actor said that he thinks it is Demelza, mentioning that “love wins the day.” The army officer grasped what is important, why he needs to stick around and what really matters to him. He then stated that “his love is stronger than ever.”
Daily Mail reported that Aidan Turner was spotted on the set while filming the third season of the BBC drama. He appeared to keep himself warm as he held a grip onto a hot water bottle in chilly depths of December.
BBC already released the season 3 trailer. It teased a group of new characters and dark story which highlights conflict, passion, and drama. Scriptwriter Debbie Horsfield revealed “Ross is older but not necessary wiser, and his recklessness” costs him and his loved ones.
DC’s Justice League Dark will soon be seen in a live-action format, which is good news for WB/DC because that would give the studio a chance to explore DC’s supernatural side.
With the likes of John Constantine, Zatanna, Deadman, Etrigan the demon and Swamp Thing coming together to form the team, it would be interesting to see who gets to play which character.
Though no information has been made available yet, here are some actors who could be a part of the team in the movie.
Aidan Turner could make a brilliant Etrigan in the movie. The demon is considered as one of the most powerful characters in the DC Universe who can go up against Superman and Wonder Woman.
He also has a human side that goes by the name Jason Blood. In the movie, Turner could play the role of Jason who willingly can turn into Etrigan the Demon. Jason was a knight whose body was merged with the monster in the comics.
Since Aidan Turner is the lead star of Poldark, playing an old character like a knight would be easy for him.
